The Maison & White Knife Sharpening Whetstone is an essential tool for ensuring that your blades are razor sharp ready for the next chop. Equipped with 2 grits, a 3000 for sharpening and an 8000 for polishing/finishing the edge, this is the complete tool for maintaining your blades without the need for multiple tools.
This whetstone sits in a secure rubber base which creates strong friction between the stone and the surface reducing the chance of it slipping or moving as you work. Make sure that you're working on a dry, solid surface like a kitchen or garage worktop.
The whetstone can also be used for other bladed objects throughout the home. If you notice that your garden shears have become a little blunt, or perhaps your straight razor isn’t quite shaving close enough, use the whetstone to get them back to pristine condition! The whetstone is not suitable for ceramic or serrated blades.
HOW TO USE:
1. Soak the sharpening stone in water for 5 minutes, then put it on a steady surface such as a table or a desk, ensuring the rubber base is attached.
2. First use the 3000 grit side for fine grinding at a 10-30 degree angle, push the knife
out with a little force, and then gently retract. Repeat this process for around 15 minutes.
3. Then use the 8000 grit side to polish your knife, don't force too much. This process takes about 10 minutes.
The knife sharpening whetstone should only be operated by persons over the age of 18 years old and should be used with caution.
